Well thats a wrap on the Nicholson War Memorial Exhibition to the public!

Tomorrow is a private viewing for the Royal British Legion and VIP's. But remember the parade is at 10:30 at sparrow park in the town centre.

Thank you to everyone who has been and seen all the amazing items at the exhibition.

During my model making process of the War memorial I learnt so much and learnt more from the exhibition.

Leek has some great people, with a wealth of knowledge. Steve Owen, Dave Swarbrook & Jean Fisher to mention a few that have helped me with the model, be it from photos, building details and feedback etc, every bit helped, Thank you.

Thank you to Leek Town Council for giving me the go ahead to make the limited edition model for generations to enjoy.

Thank you to the Leek town people and beyond. This was my first BIG major project and as artist/model maker, you get doubts if it will ever actually workout. But Leek didn't let me down! It really means a lot that my work will be treasured for years to come.

It's nice to know that one of my models will be going to the Nicholson Family and another will be making it's travels to Este in Italy, Leek's twin town, to go on display in the council office over there.

If you are still thinking of getting a model there is still some available via my website there is only 100 made. Once all are sold, the model in limited edition size will be reitred and won't be available again. Head over to the shop page to purchase one before they go.

Well done everyone involved, volunteers, Artists, Crafters for some amazing products to celebrate 100 years & local collectors who loaned items for the displays.

The time has arrived to reveal the next project!

So the next project was a little further on than I let on. Only a select few knew of this project and what stage it was at.

The next model from Arty Duck Studio is........

The Nicholson Institute. The home of Leek town library.

I'm only modeling the tower part of the building due to size of the entire building and printing limitations. I have modeled it with it's original round steps from when it was built.

I'm at the prototype phase with this project. please keep checking back for updates.

At the moment all key chains are still out of stock on the website, due to all stock being down at Leek Town Council Centenary exhibition in the Churnet room at moorlands house. 

Plenty avaiblable there, White, Grey Marble Red & Beige until the 5th September.

There is also a selection at Café Apolloina in Leek town centre aswell.

I'm currently out of stock of all keychains on the website, There is a small quanity available at Cafe Apollonia in Leek town and soon to be The Artisan Cave.

There will be some on sale at the exhibition at the council offices.

Leek Town Council will mark the centenary of the Nicholson War Memorial this year with a parade, a re-dedication service and a ceremony of commitment to Remembrance and Peace. 

Location: Sparrow Park at 10:30am on 6th September 2025 – the ceremony is scheduled for 11:00am

Art works have been commissioned, and the Monument is being prepared for this significant day in the Town’s history.  You may wish to support the event by:

•  Celebrating the Centenary with a work of art (in any media);

• Sharing any memorabilia that you may have (photographs, memoirs, implements used in the building etc.).  There will be an exhibition of the artworks and memorabilia, including audio visual displays in the Churnet Room, Moorlands House, Stockwell Street, Leek, ST13 6HQ from Tuesday 26th August through to Friday 5th September. 10:00am- 3:00pm

Arty Duck Studio will be apart of the exhibtion.

It's been agreed that most of protoypes of the models of the Nicholson War Memorial I have done, will be on display in the exhibition that is being put on by Leek Town Council.
